Trips, charging and parked use

Understand where your vehicle's energy goes

See how much energy a recorded trip used, how efficient it was, what charging added and whether energy changed while parked. For a future drive, estimate energy and cost with the local browser tool.

VatioLibre dashboard used for Tesla telemetry and energy analysis

How efficient was the trip?

  • Distance from odometer data when available, otherwise recorded GPS distance.
  • Energy discharged, net battery change and estimated recovered energy.
  • Efficiency in Wh per mile or converted display units and state-of-charge change.
  • Measurement-quality labels and warnings when charging overlaps a trip.

What did charging add?

  • Battery energy added and AC input energy when corresponding signals are available.
  • Charging loss, charging efficiency, average power and peak power.
  • Partial-session labels when the beginning or end falls outside recorded history.
  • Parked energy use and charging overlap for retained activity intervals.

Interpretation limits

Missing signals, telemetry gaps, counter resets, climate use, temperature, elevation and charging overlap can change results. Derived metrics are analytical estimates, not billing-grade measurements.

Frequently asked questions

Does VatioLibre show exact electricity billing?

No. Vehicle and charging analytics depend on available telemetry and are not a utility meter or invoice.

What happens when odometer data is unavailable?

The trip calculation can fall back to recorded GPS distance and labels the source and quality.

Can the Energy tool calculate several planned trips?

Yes. The local tool supports individual calculations and a multi-trip total.

Why can charging efficiency be partial?

The beginning or end of a charging session, or a required signal, may be outside the retained range.
